Zeta Nu Lambda 'Adopts - A - Block'

In a remarkable display of community engagement and neighborhood pride, the Zeta Nu Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha has devoted their time and energy to uplift the Fourth Ward of Plainfield, New Jersey. Undertaking a neighborhood cleanup project, the Brothers, alongside local students, joined forces to bring about tangible change by clearing litter and removing discarded items.

 

This collective act of community service not only left a lasting impact but also served as a powerful testament to the chapter's unwavering dedication to the well-being of their home neighborhood. In a demonstration of unity, members of the Plainfield Office of Communication, the Plainfield Department of Public Works, and Councilwoman Terri Briggs-Jones stood shoulder to shoulder with the brothers during the cleanup efforts.

 



The collaboration between the Zeta Nu Lambda chapter and the city of Plainfield extends beyond a one-time event. This cleanup initiative has been established as a permanent program within the community, showcasing a commitment to sustained improvement. The Brothers, recognizing the importance of an ongoing effort, have pledged to conduct biannual cleanups, ensuring that the neighborhood remains not only clean but also safe and vibrant for all its residents.
