Project Alpha - Plainfield, NJ

The program draws on the skills, talents, experiences, educational backgrounds and networks of Zeta Nu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated®’s members and stakeholders to lead boys ages 12– 15 through an in depth training designed to help identify healthy, respectful, and nonviolent relationships.
The Project Alpha Curriculum focus on the following topics:
Session I: Responsibility, Respect and the Role of Young Males in Relationships
Session II: Adolescent Pregnancy and Fatherhood
Session III: Protecting Yourself and Your Partner
Session IV: Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Session V: Intimate Violence in Relationships
Other topics such as Engaging with Law Enforcement, Matters in Social Justice, Financial Literacy, and Goal setting will also be delivered to augment the Project Alpha core curriculum.
This years program was a huge success. I was presented at Plainfield High School where 24 children attended. Speakers included representatives from the Plainfield Police Department, New Jersey State Police, March of Dimes and Members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
